A Quiet Goodbye To A Good Man
My grandmother called him "Jimmy." Everyone else called him by his last name, even some of the nurses who cared for him at the end. This is a photograph of him when he was eighteen, standing on the beach and on the brink of a world war. He died today, my sweet uncle.James Gilbert Moose1924-2008

I'm so sorry about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Oh, Cheryl, what a lovely way to remember him...this seems like exactly the kind of tribute he would've wanted, if he ever gave any thought to such things.
Here's to the memory of a wonderful man.
What a lovely picture of your uncle, Cheryl. And as Laurie said, 'here's to the memory of a wonderful man'. Being remembered with love and affection by those you love must surely be the best of legacies.
Thank you for your kind comments. They're very much appreciated.
